We have a lifelong passion for dogs and a purposeful dream for people.

Our Beginnings

JBW Farms, LLC (the parent company of Pet Commander Kennels), started as a vision given to Jonathan and JoDee Watkins in 2013.  While reading through a book called Living The Dream by Daniel Floyd, a dream was birthed in their hearts to create a facility that would provide a safe-haven employment opportunity for their daughter, AnneDee.  Born with intellectual disabilities, AnneDee faced challenges that could potentially prevent certain job opportunities for her as she got older.  Jonathan and JoDee wanted to create more opportunities for their daughter. Although the dream seemed insurmountable, they pressed on in faith.

Over the years 2013 and 2014, Jonathan & JoDee committed to give over 43% of their income to their local church in Fredericksburg, VA.  This was not a simple task as a police officer and a nurse, but it was what they knew they were called to do.

Jonathan and JoDee’s commitment, and blessings from above, are now bringing their dreams into fruition. Through Pet Commander Kennels, LLC and their joint venture, CHASE Equestrian Center, LLC (coming soon), the opportunity that was once focused solely on AnneDee has expanded to touch so many more lives.  Through our businesses, many more intellectually disabled and other disabled individuals will have both employment and therapy opportunities.

We are humbled and thrilled to be able to carry this dream forward.  Thank you for joining us on our journey.

About Our Kennel

Pet Commander Kennels is a family owned and operated boarding and training facility located in the upstate of South Carolina, just minutes from Greenville, SC.  Pet Commander Kennels is much more than a dog-boarding facility.  Our 100+ acre farm offers an ideal setting for boarding, raising, and training canines.  Dogs are always under the watchful eye of owner, Jonathan Watkins, who resides on the premises.

At Pet Commander Kennels, we understand the importance of exercise and socialization.  Throughout the day, our canine guests exercise and train in the open fields and woodlands.  As Jonathan likes to say, “a good dog is a tired dog.”

When dogs are not in the field, they rest comfortably in a state-of-the-art facility.  We sought luxury homebuilder, Rembrey Custom Homes, to make Pet Commander Kennels unique and a step above traditional facilities.  We combined their luxury home-building experience with the engineering and expertise of TriStar Vet, Inc. to ensure an incredible experience for both canines and owners.

We look forward to seeing you very soon.

We offer top notch dog training with southern charm.
